The Council was originally founded on August 23, 1978. Founding members included:

The Council is an association of attorneys, chartered life underwriters, certified public accountants, trust officers, certified financial planners and foundation administrators. Members share a common interest in fostering intelligent cooperation and cordial understanding among its members in the field of estate planning; assisting members in keeping abreast of lows and conditions affecting business, personal and estate taxation; encouraging members to have as their goal to render the best professional services; and educating the public of the necessity and advisability of proper estate planning.
It’s activities include seasonal meetings to discuss current issues; an annual program provided to the community and professionals on estate and charitable topics; and provision of scholarships to are youth who desire to attend the University of Wyoming or Laramie County Community College.
